Summerfield Temple Walk!

"Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart-- that's TRUE STRENGHTH"
(Thank you RICHELLE ANDERSON for this awesome quote, which I stole!)

Saturday morning...I woke up at 2:30a.m., met the youth and leaders in my ward at our church at 3:00a.m., drove to the Draper Temple, took some pictures, and started our journey to the Salt Lake Temple at 3:30a.m.

We began preparing to do this in April. We walked 3 times a week together, and we were all very excited to do it. Why did we do this? To teach our youth that getting to the temple is their #1 goal in life, to remember that the temple means we can be with our families forever, and to teach them that we/they CAN do hard things...and this WAS hard!

A picture at the Draper Temple to start...

We had 5 stops along the way, where members of our ward were waiting with fruit, water, snacks, and treats. We would not have made it without these stops.
Also notice the lanyard's we all wore...each with a picture of our family on them.

We finally made it...10 hours, 22 miles later...extremely sore hips, legs, feet, well...pretty much everything hurt. But look who was there waiting for me. My family...who I get to be with forever!

And a group shot of all of us at our final destination!

My battle wounds...

This was a wonderful experience. I am so proud of the youth, the leaders, and grateful for all the support we received. This is something I will never forget! A wonderful experience!

I can do hard things!
